Well...we had to get here eventually. #Donuts

So, if you haven’t figured it out already, these weekly blog entries, and the social media posts that share in their theme(s), are leading somewhere. I am not going to spill the beans on where yet, but trust me…we’re on a journey together.

This week’s theme? Well…it’s donuts. If you DON’T know that I have a song called “Donuts”, you clearly haven’t been paying that much attention. It’s my most streamed song, my best-selling song. It has gotten me more notoriety than anything I’ve ever done. But more about that in a minute.

I may not actually obsess over donuts the way the song suggests, but I definitely do enjoy them. I tend to avoid donuts with filling in them…I like the kinds that have the hole in the middle. But they definitely are a favorite treat. Believe it or not, they are NOT the first baked item to be celebrated in a song I (at least in part) composed; that honor goes to Otis Spunkmeyer muffins. But even though it’s an exaggeration, donuts are awesome and I do celebrate their deliciousness in my real life.

As for the song, “Donuts” has been good to me. Not that it has set me up for life or anything (far from it), but what little fame I have I at least partially owe to “Donuts”. The song has been on TV, and it enabled my life long dream of getting played on the Dr. Demento Show to come true. I released a new “redux” version of it at the end of 2021, so find that on your service of choice and play the heck out of it. I prefer it to the original.

Find me on social media this week and let’s talk about donuts. Tell me what your favorite kind is, the first donut you remember having, any special place donuts have in your life, etc. I’d love to know. Love y’all. See you on the socials.
